winter tires and rim fitments

Post Body

I am currently looking into winter tires on a little bit of a budget, and I'm quickly noticing that there are few tires for the stock rim size, and they are so expensive for ~$100 more I can get 18in rims with a set or good winter tires. Has anyone done this? Is there any fitment issues with the brakes/rotors? Tire rack has a ton of cheap options with the same bolt pattern, I'm just worried about spending ~$1600 on something that won't fit. Also sidenote, but will different rims void the warranty? I believe they said cosmetic changes were ok
