Hello everyone,
My grandmother passed away about 3 years ago and she always wanted me to keep her house. The house went to my aunt because she was the only daughter alive at the time. My aunt has been trying to figure out the best way to hand the house over to me but the legal process seems to he very cumbersome and complicated.
A real estate attorney is asking us for birth certificates of our grandma, her husband (died in '86), death certificates for grandma and grandpa, and other stuff.
Would it be easier for my aunt to "sell" the house to me for a symbolic amount? What would be the easiest way? Thank you for any help on this!
