Hi, M39 here. For the last nearly five years I I have been on a 1-2 punch of low dose Effexor (Venlafaxine, 37.5 mg capsules) and Wellbutrin (Bupropion XL, 150 mg tabs). It's truly kept my worst anxiety at bay and most of my depression, but the lack of libido and other sexual dysfunction issues have now gotten so bad that I'm taking active steps to taper off Venlafaxine completely per my doctor's advice. She thinks that it's the Venlafaxine that's sapped me of nearly all libido. Even masterbation seems like a chore when I half-heartedly engage in it, which isn't super common.

However, after lurking on this sub and on Reddit in general, a bit, it seems like my dosage iof 37.5 mg is so much smaller than most who take the drug. Is it possible it's not the Venlafaxine after all? I'm really hoping that stopping this drug completely (while staying on the Bupropion) will allow me to actually have a healthy sex life and horniness again while still managing the bulk of my depression symptoms.

Has anyone else been on these two drugs at the same time? If so what's your experience been? I'd heard Wellbutrin is supposed to raise libido to counteract any potential sexual issues the Venlafaxine can cause, but that has absolutely NOT been my experience.

Important aspects of my marriage are suffering more than ever, I've lost complete confidence in my sexual performance and outlook, and I just want my desire and performance back. Sigh.
