Im currently tapering down from 40mg to 20mg citalopram to then make the switch to the 37.5mg venlafaxine. I also take a low dose of mirtazapine to help me sleep.
Im so nervous about starting as I tried buspirone a few years ago and had a horrific reaction to it, I was in a constant state of panic for about a week straight and had suicidal thoughts due to the constant panic. I went back onto citalopram. It keeps the anxiety at bay but barely now so I’ve been recommended to try venlafaxine. I’m incredibly anxious in case I have a bad reaction again. I also have severe emetophobia and agoraphobia so that’s why I’ve been suggested to try this to help combat the anxiety so I can start living my life again.
I know everyone is different but can I please have some success stories with this medication? I’m so scared and need a bit of reassurance. Thanks
