I'm 30 years old and have been on what I think are high doses of both medications. I'm just tired. I hate being on edge every single day. I'm exhausted. I take a daily dose of 300mg of venlafaxine and 5 300mg if gabapentin throughout the day. I know the side effects are brutal and I've only gone about 12 hours passed a missed dosage. Those were a rough 12 hours. I've recently gave gone to my mental health doc with the intent of lowering my meds, only to have them increase it.
I guess what I'm trying to ask for is anyone's advice and/or experience with taking the medication long term or weening off of it.
I've been on this medication combo for about 5 years. I know I'm going through some stuff that requires me to have some sort of mental health treatment. I'm an army vet with 3 deployments to Afghanistan as a combat medic. So I know I'm a little broken. But pills can't be the rest of my life, right?
Also. If anyone has any thoughts on ketamine as a substitute, please share! Thank you
