Driving to Central Europe?

Hi, did anybody ever drive from Tallinn/Estonia to Central Europe (Prague or Poland ) ? I mean with stops in the middle of course.
I am trying to understand if its going to be a stupid idea or a nice thing to do, if so - how is the border control works(no border?) and how are the roads outside of the main cities ?
Any advice will be great :)
