Right now: imo our forward core depth chart is McD, Drai, JP, Nuge, Yamamoto, Archibald, Kassian. Four of them are Top6 players.. our problem IMO, is NOT our top6.
I think its actually nonsense that we would be looking for another top6 LW. How about having instead a great third line? A 4th line that can outplay other teams 3rd lines? Look at Tampa, their 4th line won them half their games! I feel there is Way more value in having a well rounded 4 lines.
Imagine how many pts our big guns will get, if our bottom 6 actually demand respect from our opponents and wear them down, instead of desperately existing trying not to give up goals, with no chance of providing any support.
Being overloaded with GOOD 3rd line forwards that can even play up the lineup can give our big guns different looks 5on5 too, which is where our team needs the most help; Bcos we all know McD aint drawing any playoff penalties.
