Hopefully someone could help me out, I've worked for several years in the sales environment, from retail clothing stores, inside sales, contracts, commissions, etc. Usually always within tech of some kind.
I want to advance my career as I feel I've reached my limit with where I am. I've always envied the brand reps that come by to my stores. Whether to Promote Bell or Nikon or AMD or Directed Electronics. I even have an acquaintance who does this for Champion Pet Food.
My question is how can one go about getting into this? Obviously a lot of the larger brands are not based out of Canada. Is there anyone who currently does this for a company and could share some insight on how they got hired or their foot in the door?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Aside from blindly firing emails/resumes off to random companies I'm not sure how best to approach it, and typically googling "sales representative positions" doesn't yield the best results.
