Friend was called into a 'staff meeting' today after a surprise '5 day break' to get told 'sorry, none of you have jobs anymore!'
apparently they chose not to tell everyone last week so they could....spend the week looking for a new job, and waited until a Friday where staff was scheduled to work to 'tell everyone face to face'
I've been in the bar industry and I've seen places secretly close down, and pull the rugs out from under the staff - pretty shitty, but I understand the mentality of it (wanting staff to stick around til the end), but keeping people on the hook for a whole week is kinda shitty.
