Hey guys, First of all, I want to thank people for the great responses I've seen from all the people showing up to the trivia events. I try to put a lot into it to make it awesome for everyone involved. You guys helped me track down 2 redditors who own Jurassic Park Jeeps for our JP trivia, and it was the icing on the cake (as I type this, theres a picture of them and the prize winner from that JP trivia as the top post in this sub!). I've got a lot of big things planned for trivias coming up and am always happy to take suggestions. but in the next few weeks we've got some pretty awesome things planned, as well as the regularly scheduled programming below.
Wednesday September 6th - 730 pm - Community Trivia @ Beercade on Whyte! The classic Dan Harmon show about Community College, a $100 UofA bookstore cert is up for grabs (if you don't go to the UofA, we'll make it a different cert). So get your study group together and come test your knowledge of the show.
Thursday September 7th 8pm Simpsons Trivia @ The Buckingham on Whyte! This time we're saying goodbye to one of the guys that started the simpsons trivia 3 years ago and taking a look at some of his favorite episodes. Gummy Venus De Milos up for grabs!
Monday September 11th - 7pm Family Guy Trivia @ The Billiard Club Lots of old school family guy questions about the Griffins and their wacky Neighbors!
Thursday October 19th - 8pm Rick and Morty Trivia and Costume Contest - The Buckingham on Whyte. Since Rick and Morty is near and dear to my heart (and literally tattooed on my skin) this will be a big one. Our last R&M trivia at the buck had us turning people away at the door 30 minutes before the show, so this time is a ticketed event, that allows us to do some WAY bigger prizes, and for people to secure their spots and not leave dissapointed. There are a lot of hardcore R&M fans coming out of the woodwork for this event, so if you feel inadequate but still want to join in the fun then come in a rocking costume and win some prizes that way. Plus I'll have some Meeseeks there to help people out that are struggling with the answer. Did I mention Deep fried Pickle Ricks on the Rick and Morty themed menu?
Weekly Trivia
Mondays - The Billiard Club on Whyte. 730 start (on the patio, weather permitting) General Trivia, free to play, teams of up to 6. $13 Jugs! Prizes for top team.
Tuesdays - Rec Room South Common. 7pm start, general themed trivia. teams of up to 6. Free to play. Prizes for top team.
Wednesday - Beercade. 730pm start. Trivia from the decade 2000-2009. Different year each week. Movies, Music, TV and World news from that year. Points accumulate weekly for a big final prize, but weekly prizes for the top 3 teams as well. $4 beer and 1/2 price burgers.
Saturday - Pint on Whyte 130pm. Hangover Brunch Trivia. after years of people bitching about not being able to do a trivia during the week, this is an option to come out and try your hand at general Trivia. Prizes for top 2 teams and food and drink specials. Check out the farmers market, then come get wasted.
Many of you have attended my trivia nights before, I try to keep a consistent format between bars (50 questions with 10 of those being a picture round). I like to keep a good pace for the night so that people can get home at a decent hour during the week, and I enjoy making the themed trivia dates as fun as possible for the fans. If there are any themed trivia days you want to see in the future, let me know and I can look at making it happen. Stay tuned for Indiana Jones, The Walking Dead, Tim Burton Trivia, and more!
