Why for the love of humanity can’t the ETS get its shit together. You can get 20 different ways to get to one destination. All of which go miles and miles out of the way you need to go in the first place.
I put my drs office into Google maps to see bus times—I want to go to Kingsway, to Churchill, to Belvedere and would ETS generate that route no matter the prompts I put in (me to Belvedere, me to Churchill, me to any direct LRT stop)? No. Gave me every other fucking bus route there is along the LRT line. Not the fucking train itself. And all of these options are over an hour of travel ONE WAY. The equivalent of a 10 min drive should not take longer than 30 minutes. It’s absolutely absurd.
EDIT: to all you saying it’s my settings, it’s not. I have the train, trolly, subway all on. I prefer the train to buses.
SECOND EDIT: I get that I’m not great at trying to explain my experience to a level that most of you non-transit dependant folks aren’t grasping. That’s on me. But I’ve lived my whole life on transit. Route redundancies are inefficient. Example: if you look at the 107 & 108 routes, they are ridiculously inefficient. A separate route could be run along vic trail. Additionally a route could be run down 137 ave. The routes are so windy and twisty and inefficient. I’ve looked at transit studies from different agencies. I’ve read up on densification and how it affects pedestrian/vehicle/transit traffic. Y’all can get up in your snowflake feelings all you want. It simply tells me you’ve never left the city or province to live somewhere else.
