Here's the thing, on a scale of 1-10 representing sexual arousal, 10 would be an orgasm. 9 is the "Point of No Return". You may be able to hold out a little on that plateau, but you won't be able to climb down from there again, so you definitely don't wanna reach that, ever!

Stopping momentarily your teasing and rubbing will not immediately stop the arousal - in fact, depending on how horny you are, the aftermath sensations will carry you up at least one instance; and in cases of extreme arousal, also after a long time of edging, the aftermath may carry you up 2 numbers!

So, the trick is, to listen to your body, learn how it responds to your actions. This may take some time and even more accidentally ruined sessions, but I think I've finally mastered it:

Edge yourself until you're at a 6 (on the Scale of Arousal). You can't know what's a 6, until you've trained and learned for some time. For me, it's when I feel a sweet tingling on my thighs creeping up into my crotch. Now, when I stop, depending on my arousal, the aftermath sensations will carry me up a notch to a 7 - at extreme arousal to an 8 even. But as long as I take some seconds afterwards to wind down again, I now believe I can go endlessly with thise technique (currently putting it to a test, while watching a Lesbian Threesome, with 3 cuties fingering buttholes and eating their delicously shaved pussies).

The important thing to learn is, where one's 6 is. You definitely don't wanna carry up yourself to a 7 - it might work out for a couple of edges, and it might feel EXTREMELY good and intense, but the danger is too high, that the aftermath sensations will carry you up 2 numbers instead of 1, thus locking you in "Plateau of 9", a.k.a. the "Point of No Return", where you won't be able to escape from.
