This is the founding document of Eden Group.

The Eden Group (EG, Eden) is the largest security-oriented intergovernmental organization on Civcraft.

Article I: Mandate

The goals of Eden are:

to protect the experiment of Civcraft, from both threats internal and external;

promote the exercise of free speech and human rights;

identify free states as such and assist in maintaining their sovereignty;

provide freedom of the press and fair elections;

maintain fairness and justice;

provide early warning, prevent, and rehabilitate server-wide conflicts;

Article II: Requirements to Join

To apply to Eden, either submit a modmail on the Eden subreddit or send a private message to the Eden Commander to being the application process. All members will be approved on an account-by-account basis. Approval will be at the discretion of the Eden Commander or his authorized agents.

• The Applicant must be clear of all valid standing claims on /r/Civcraft. Valid claims are those with evidence, warrant, or respectability.

• The Applicant must exhibit dedication to the experiment and have spent a considerable amount of time playing on the server.

• The Applicant must gain the sponsorship of a recognized nation before being admitted to Eden.

Article III: Membership Duties

• Members must assist other Eden members attempting to exercise the Eden mandate.

• Members must keep all sensitive information relating to Eden confidential. This includes but is not limited to snitches, groups, and bunker locations.

• Members may not engage in any international conflict without Eden approval. If a member acts in a way that discredits Eden in any way, the member may be removed, along with additional penalties levied, pending a public and transparent discretionary hearing.

• Members may not pearl individuals without evidence of wrong-doing. Members must be able to prove that it was more likely than not that a crime was committed before engaging fugitives.

• Members may not cause grief to innocent individuals or their property. The destruction of random property will not be tolerated. Members found to have caused grief will be found culpable and Eden will pay for the damages.

• Members may not raid. Members found to have raided, even on unknown accounts, will be found culpable, face penalties, and Eden will pay for the damages.

• Members may not consistently use racist, sexist, or homophobic language. Members acting in a way that discredits Eden will be removed.

• Members will have access to Eden bunkers, bastions, and defenses. Members will be given access to free potions as well as any other combat gear or materials deemed necessary to carry out your obligations as a member of Eden.

Article IV: Penalties

If a member breaks the Eden Mandate, or fails to reasonably uphold the duties of a member:

The member will lose membership and all membership rights. Eden will pay for any resulting damages caused by the member. The member will be held liable for the resulting damages and pursued for reparations and/or end time. The member must return Eden resources in their possession.

Article V: Eden Positions

Eden Commander

Eden is headed by the Eden Commander.

The Commander has ownership of all Eden groups. The Commander has ownership of the Eden Treasury. The Treasurer will be granted temporary access solely for liquid asset audits.

The Commander will be held responsible for maintaining and exercising the Eden Mandate.

The Commander has the ability to assign, or reassign the Eden General, the Eden Quartermaster, and the Eden Spokesperson.

The Commander has co-owner on all Eden-related groups.

Eden General

The Eden General is in charge of the armed forces of Eden.

Individuals disobeying commands given in a combat situation can be sent to a disciplinary hearing by the Eden General or any of his authorized officers.

The Eden General has final say over all decisions made in a combat situation.

The General must provide assistance and training to members willing to learn to fight.

The General has admin on Eden-combat related groups.

Eden Quartermaster

The Eden Quartermaster is responsible for maintaining the supply lines, potion and material reserves, and miscellaneous items required to fulfill the Eden Mandate.

The Quartermaster may petition the Treasurer or the Commander for additional funding if needed.

A list of currently available supplies and their location must be maintained.

The Quartermaster must keep a list of purchases and sales, with the quantity, item, and price of each order.

The Quartermaster has admin on all Eden-supply related groups.

Eden Spokesperson

The Eden Spokesperson is the de facto face of Eden on the subreddit, forums, and image boards.

The Spokesperson may only communicate messages regarding combat or conflict if approved by the General or the Commander.

The Spokesperson may only communicate messages regarding supplies if approved by the Quartermaster or the Commander.

The Spokesperson may only communicate messages regarding general Eden business if approved by the Commander.

The Spokesperson is also in charge of communicating with City Leaders and requesting their assistance or input.

Eden Treasurer

The Eden Treasurer is a Eden member that is trusted to check on the Eden Treasury every two weeks. This member will request temporary access from the Commander to the chests, alt vault, or bunker that holds the liquid asset wealth of Eden.

The Eden Treasurer will keep a separate list of supplies and will audit the Quartermaster's funding requests, purchases, and sales, every month.

The Eden Treasurer has the ability to request, publicly, the removal of the Eden Commander or Quartermaster, if given cause.

Article VI: Election of the Commander and Treasurer

On the 1st day of January, March, May, July, September, and November, the general members of Eden must nominate another member, or themselves, to run for Eden Commander or Treasurer.

On the next day, a vote will be held on the private subreddit. The nomination with the most votes by Eden members wins the position. The newly elected position holder and their officers must be announced by the Eden Spokesperson.

Article VII: Identifying server-wide conflict

A general member of Eden, or a individual on Civcraft through the Eden Spokesperson, may petition the general Eden membership to request a nation, group, or individual be identified as a threat to the server.

If the members of Eden vote 70% in favor of identifying the threat, the nation, group, or individual will be considered criminal and may be pursued. The threat must be publicly announced by the Spokesperson. Any individuals or groups found to be aiding the threat will be considered to be committing a crime.

Until a nation or group is identified as a threat, they may not be invaded and their sovereignty must be respected. Until an individual is identified as a threat, they may not be pursued or pearled without proper claims.

Article VIII: Eden Vault Requirements

Eden Vaults may only hold criminals either identified as a threat to the server, or criminals that have committed crimes in multiple nations. Eden Vaults are designed to be super-maximum security long term prison systems. With that in mind, low-level griefers are not to be held. Only organized criminals and experienced raiders should be held.

There must be an appeals process and a public audit of pearls held in Eden Vaults. A subreddit is recommend for ease of use.

For any pearl to be released, the criminal must go through an appeal. Appeals are made to the Eden Commander and may either be decided upon or held to a vote by the Eden Group.

Recommend pearling time based on estimated damages:

1 months with appeal - 500d damages

3 months with appeal and probation - 2000d damages

6 months with appeal and probation - 5000d damages

12 months with appeal and probation - 10000d damages

Permapearl with appeal and probation - 15000d damages or more

Article IX: Founding members.

The undersigned are the founding members of Eden and will take it upon themselves to uphold the mandate, elect the first Commander and Treasurer, and follow the guidance in this document.
