What it says on the tin. Can anyone recommend some decent economic history articles or texts on labour economics within the UK?
I've had a cursory search around but its pretty hard when searching for 'labour history UK' to parse out material relating to the Labour Party, which I don't want.
To be honest, I'd be happy with any general material - but if anybody knows some good stuff specifically related to the interaction between nascent labour market policies (things like the Wage Councils or some of Disraeli-era policies) or institutions (development of trade unions) that would be great!
More traditional qualitative economic history or cliometric-style stuff would be welcome.
