Help with "missing" resources? (Rice)
Post Body

Hello Survivalists! I've very much enjoyed this game but I'm now on Day 4 as a farmer and I'm having one hell of a time trying to find any Rice on our server. I'm hoping I might be able to get some insight and/or assistance from the subreddit.

So the quick and dirty is, when we look at RICE on the Global Map, we cannot find a single trace of it anywhere. After playing with the filters and believing that a single source of one plant may not generate a heatmap that was visible, I decided to hunt the server around any areas indicated by the RICEYIELDPOTENTIAL heat map.

After a solid day of searching, I actually found TWO rice plants.

Unfortunately, both were dead and could not be harvested. I cleaned up that area where I found them, and even created more land where there seemed to be rice potential. Alas, 24 hours later, and I haven't seen new rice appear.

QUESTION: Are we screwed? Is this what extinction of a resource looks like? Is this event possible?

If this is the case it seems as if we may have gotten screwed on RNG or never really had a chance to "save" rice.

I need help. My nights are spent scouring the planet for a single grain to hopefully bring back the population, but without any success over two days I'm starting to worry that perhaps we are without this resource.

Am I wasting my time, or are there other strategies I should consider to try to "revive" a rice population?
