Me and my buddy got the game and there is a lot to take in. We tried getting a starter down but it took 3hrs just to build a small wood house (mainly because we were very far from a significant ammount of trees). We want to play at a team, bit there does not seem to be any way of starting a "company" or "group' only permissions for people to have permissions on your land?

What's the best way to get started in a duo / work together? Should we specialise in the same skills and progress them faster or should we be diverse in our skills while working together? Are we able to work, research, live in the same building?

Also, joining a server, where it was allready a couple of days old made things a little daunting in the sense that there were more advanced farmers (in my case) out there with a 2 day head start, so it felt as if I grew / sold food, it would be massively undermined by the things that other farmers could produce?
