I Want to Start Eating Cheap and Healthy. What Should I Cut out?

Post Body

I used to buy whatever I wanted from Trader Joe’s, Costco, and Misfits. My boyfriend and I spend $500 on food every month. We prefer to buy organic for no valid reason.

My boyfriend eats meat occasionally, and I’m a vegetarian. We almost always have rice, udon, soba, fake meat, tofu, canned beans, bananas, frozen berries, oat milk, onions, oats, garlic, pasta, potatoes, yogurt, cheese, crackers, salad greens, chips, granola, eggs, and seasonal fruits and veggies on hand.

I’ve already decided not to buy chocolate and tea anymore because I felt extremely guilty. I don’t want to purchase those things anymore, but this does not mean I won’t be snacking.

Anyway, is there anything on the list I should cut out? Which products are worth buying organic? I should add that I can’t eat a large amount of beans because they give me gas. I live in NYC and groceries are expensive.
