My boyfriend and I are moving to a rental apartment in a few days and we need some guidance, we are on a tight budget and I could really use some advice. Basically we have 80 bucks to spend in groceries from a bonus card he has (not in the US), we decided to spend it on chicken (pretty cheap in here) and also a little bacon (not as cheap but pretty versatile), and I'm also planning on rice, quinoa (dirt cheap around here), oats, eggs and pasta to set up our lunches and dinners. So, my main concern is breakfast and snacks, my boyfriend is a huge bread eater, he can't go a day without bread and we are also pretty heavy milk drinkers. So, I have a daily budget of around 12 bucks for these items. I would really appreciate your advices on lowering the bread and milk consumption. Is cereal cheaper? I really like flavored soy milk and it is a little cheaper than regular milk around here, should we buy it as well? What is your go to no bread breakfast options? Also, are canned tuna, flour tortillas and ham good options for a quick grab and go snack? Let me know if I'm not covering some base.
