Obviously not thinking like sardine and chocolate smoothie, but in a regular world for someone who doesn’t dislike a lot, what would recommend?
I have access to a full kitchen but I just don’t like to cook (and also suck at it) so I try to only do it for the family dinner. Still should prob eat a couple more times in the day (I know some people do omad, but I’m not about that life rn).
No weight loss or gain goals. Just variety of micronutrients and plenty of each macronutrient for a non-chef who doesn’t have food as a hobby. Don’t want spend a lot of time or money on it.
Years ago, I loved the idea of Huel (meal replacement smoothie), but at $3.75/meal (400 cal), I think we can do better.
I’ve read rice and beans a lot on here but is rice healthy or just filling? I know it makes a complete protein, but I also read it has a crap ton of arsenic (is this a real thing?).
My contribution is oatmeal, pb, and whatever frozen fruit is the cheapest that trip. $1.48 per meal based on serving sizes on nutrition label and 420 cal. I did old fashioned oats, cheapest pb, and dole smoothie packs.
Though I think there’s a case for oatmeal and beans plus whichever canned for frozen veg are on sale for a savory version. $1.25 per meal and 418 cal. I did half a can of veg and beans instead of a serving bc lazy. This was black beans and the mixed veg.
These were just what prices were on the King Soopers app today.
What’s your cheap fuel go-to?
