I would like to get on a regular schedule of dinners bc it’s less expensive (I hear), less decision, and I’m not great at cooking so getting 10-15 down seems easier than attempting the entirety of Mark Bittman’s How to Cook Everything. (Though maybe I’ll do that one day).
I was going to just get Budget Byte’s one pot plan, but my kid decided she doesn’t like mixed foods that “aren’t supposed to be mixed.” So I decided to make our own dinner schedule/meal plan thingy with some one pots and some other stuff.
[TLDR here] I assume BB’s site strange the plans so grocery shopping is cheaper, but for people who have dinner schedule that span more than one shopping trip, what’s your strategy for grouping things and buying in bulk without it taking the whole week?
I’m going for 18 dinners. I was thinking of grouping by protein, ie chicken week, beef or pork week, veg and fish week. Maybe pairing the grain with the protein, ie chicken rice and something week. Dunno.
