Is it just possible to grab a piece of metal, and alligator clip it to a wire that I connect to the ground of a DIY plug and put my feet on it while I'm at my computer?

Even if it's not optimal, is it better than nothing? Do you think I'd see effects?

Thanks... just hearing stories and wondering if I could give myself a project instead of just buying something.

Note - those are all Home Depot links to show what I would be essentially be buying. Looks like total cost (since I already have wire) would be about $25.
