You all know the one I'm talking about. Let me start off by saying this post will probably just be rambling. I guess I just want to start a conversation about it. The video is over an hour long and the creator is fully on Eugenia's side. Saying she is unaware and reddit is bullying her blah blah. Idk I think she was quite dismissive about our general concerns and observations when it comes to it, and let's be real, most of us are familiar with ED's because of personal experience. There is a reason we are preoccupied with Eugenia's story. It's kinda like the case of 'don't bullshit a bullshitter'. You know what I'm saying. We see through her. Or rather see through her actions. I also don't want to pretend I know Eugenia, she is just an internet personality. But I think most of us are familar with her actions, either through addiction, or EDs, or abuse, or all of that. The constant denial and avoidance of accountability. Not having the emotional maturity to take responsibility. Putting ourselves and others at risk to feed our addiction. Being delusional and choosing instant gratification. Yada yada. Yes, Eugenia's social media presence is harmful and I'm literally not even going to open a discussion about that. Enough people say so, for a reason. If she cared she could come up with easy solutions to have a safer image, she's a creative girl. She doesn't give a fuck tho she just wants to do what she wants to do and also wants to get away with it plus get paid at all costs. I do think the french girl made some good points too, though. Like when she said the 5150 is not treatment. It was probably unnecessarily traumatic and a 72 hour hold is not gonna treat a lifelong ED. One could say the 5150 is not what was originally intended, or even if there was a chance for the intervention ending in an involuntary hospitalization, they didn't know what else to try. I don't know. I wasn't there and I don't know these people. I feel sorry for Eugie and hope she gets better and also believe she should get her shit together and stop ignoring all the criticism when it comes to her social media presence. Like she doesn't even need to mix her personal life with her job, she could just be normal but it was her decision to live off of an eating disorder disguised as whatever. And then she wouldn't be 'bullied'. Thoughts?
Edit: just remembered another point in the video i agree with. When that child predator discord mod thing came out, the message that was sent to EC was fully unclear about the grooming happening on her discord, I don't blame her for not figuring that out
