I am trying to buy a few shares of VOO from my 17-year-old daughter to get her on the path to building a portfolio. I tried to do it about a week ago, but something happened with the trade and it wound up getting canceled and since then it's been going up. I was waiting for a pullback and of course I missed today's. Anybody have a suggestion for a good entry point? Or should I just say the hell with it and just buy a market order tomorrow?
Also, do your teens file income tax returns for their summer jobs?. I want to put my kids into a Roth as well, but neither of them are filing income tax tons although they do have some earned income.
Why VTI and VXUS? What prompted you to choose those funds over say VOO or VUG or VGT? Just for a simplification?

I googled it. It says they don't.
