Ancient character with bad class: any reason to return?
Post Body

So... I've got a character in pretty decent shape circa Sentinel's Fate, with a little bit of DoV progress. I was, at one point, a progression raider. I'm clearly out of practice, but I was capable of being competent, and from a mechanics standpoint, I'm sure I can be again. Unfortunately for me, as I understand, it's a Swashbuckler, which I assume are now even more obsoleted by Brigands/Assassins/Beastmasters than they were in 2011.

If I were to return, with the goal of dragging my way to being a useful and contributing member of society.... is there a path to do that? Or would my future be an impossible timegated catch-up grind followed by requests to betray or simply reroll?
