Have you ever used language in such a way that makes people think you are thinking one way but really you are thinking of another?
No, I am NOT talking about double entendre, because double entendres are intentional.
There was one time when I asked Redditors whether or not they had ever burned cash. And the responses I got didn't even mention fire to burn the cash. That's when I realized "burning cash" was a metaphor for "spending a lot of money on useless things".
There was another time when I called the school's IT department, and the school's IT department guy wanted to know how to address me, so I gave him my school ID which included my surname and number.
