Where to go to meet people

So where do all of you extroverts go? I don't have any problems socializing, but it's usually around coworkers or groups of people with shared interests who are themselves introverted. Do y'all really just...lurk around public venues and randomly approach people? That would feel so awkward and creepy to me. Pls help/explain.
