Region Wars VIII EU: Saturday 15th October 2016 @ 8:00PM BST

EU Region Wars will be taking place this Saturday (15th) from 8:00PM BST. You are expected to be present before this time so that there is no delay in getting started.

In VIII, we will have one big round robin group of 8 teams, meaning everyone gets to play everyone (7 games minimum). Each game in the round robin stage of the tournament is 10 minutes long. After the seventh round, the top four teams on the league table will go through to the semi-finals, where #1 will play #4, and #2 plays #3. In the semi-finals, there are two halves to a game (10 minutes each half). The winners of the semi-finals will then play each other in the EU Region Wars Final using the now traditional pick/ban best-of-three system.

Getting through to the Final earns your region a place in World Wars, which is due to take place in November.

The seven maps to be played in EU Region Wars are:

• Pilot
• Transilio
• IRON
• Wormy
• Market
• Competitive Map #1 (TBC)
• Competitive Map #2 (TBC)

These maps make up the seven rounds, and the seven maps available in the pick/ban of the final. The semi-finals will be a free choice by each team to pick one of the above maps for their half. The first team to pick their map in the semi-finals is the highest ranked team.
