Commissioner applicant Q&A - Heisy
Post Body

My Plans

  • Increase the auction draft to cover 5 spots instead of the 4 we did this season
  • Remove Opt outs and experienced free agents
  • Assuming theres a fewer amount of signups remove bronze and go back to either a 10 team or 8 team Majors/Minors tier system.
  • Enforce a new map policy so that at least half the maps have not been in rotation before for the regular season.
  • Make the Europa Cup the pre season tournament with Neutral flag maps only.
  • Enforce the rules.
  • Not attempt to change rules halfway through the season unless there is a clear issue with how its working by going over the rules and seeing whether theres an isssue with it before the season starts.
  • Be impartial
  • If theres enough signups for a bronze league to happen, then remove experienced player restrictions from it.

Yeah I'm not saying is a bad one, is the only fair way to deal with experienced FAs, but hard to put to practice. Back then I suggested that the captains should be the ones to decide if they think a replacement is fair or not. It was argued agaisnt cos they said captains are too competitive and that they would allow no trades. But I think that if it's blatant enough that is a fair replacement all captains will be ok with it.

The commisioners being the ones deciding it has the downside of being the criteria of just 3 people, and potentially upsetting a bunch of teams. Which leads to more people whining at them. But may be worth trying.

What I'd actually like to do is allow experienced free agents to sign up but only be allowed to play for a team that loses a player for whatever reason and is then dropped and for me and the other commissioners to pick players that have signed up as experienced free agents in the same position who we all agree have a lower skill level than the player who has been dropped, then allow the captain to take their pick of these players.

How would you determine who has a lower skill level, or how would you know that everybody agrees?
