Ok guys PLEASE READ this!! My sister and I had our amended returns stamped in April. We've been in recon ever since. My reconsideration request was recently put on hold as of 6/2. WHY??? Because...the damn lady at the IRS office put the wrong damn stamp on our returns!!!! I'm working with an excellent Sr. LO who is very knowledgeable and was able to explain to me why our stamped returns are insufficient. Turns out the itch (She had a very STANK attitude. I honestly believe she did it on purpose!) at the IRS used a stamp that says "Proof of Delivery" not "Received." Therefore, the SBA will not accept them. So, we're driving 2 hours away on 7/16 to get the correct "Received" stamp!!
Please make sure your stamp says "Received", or your returns will be denied again! Beautiful right???
Here's the info the Sr. LO provided me with to clarify the difference in acceptable and unacceptable stamps:
-There are two separate kinds of stamps. The stamp on your return is "Proof of Delivery Only" and not a "Received" stamp. We cannot accept those until it's filed and on record with the IRS.Â
-Also, I included a link of valid "Received" stamps from the IRS. Just below that are the invalid stamps we cannot accept.Â
