The enigmatic DJ icon and record don of Quality Goods Records, UZ is one of the progenitors of the Trap genre. Previously known by his turntablist moniker, DJ Troubl, he is two-time DMC World Champion and has carried his hip-hop influenced background into the world of electronic music in a massive way. Beginning in 2011 with his Trap Shit series of 25 releases, UZ established himself with a minimalist, beats-oriented approach to trap and a gangsta aesthetic, in many ways cementing himself as the electronic heir to the rap trap scene. UZ has continued to create and promote the innovative and minimalist sounds of the underground Trap scene with founding Quality Goods Records, one of the genre’s premiere labels, and maintaining a prolific release schedule. With his undeniable influence and impact, UZ is one of the greatest DJs and producers to grace the electronic Trap scene. Check out UZ’s sound below:
