Played a lot of Arena (as well as other digital CCGs) and I wanted to get out to my LGS and play, maybe make some friends. I've always been mostly a Standard player but that scene is completely dead in my city. The LGS does Commander every FNM so I've been working on a fairly budget EDH deck with [[Katilda, Dawnhart Martyr]] as my Commander.
My first version was W/B/U with [[Zur, Eternal Schemer]] so I could stuff it with curses and use Curse of Surveillance as a draw engine. I quickly realised that 3-color was gonna blow the budget on land alone so I went for mono-W with Katilda instead, leaning more into spirits.
A version of it has been doing really well in Historic Brawl on arena (73% WR) but I worry about how it'd work in a multiplayer format. I figured I could work on doing Commander damage to one player and attach [[Faithbound Judge]] to another. Also playing Arena is why the deck is mostly historic, I just know those cards and the old border cards just hurt my eyes
Katilda seems like a good commander for it. A lot of spirits have an aura on the back as the disturb, which both work with her. Also I can delay the commander tax by getting to disturb her before she goes back into the command zone. [[Twinblade Geist]] has been a great wincon, either disturbing him onto Katilda or vice-versa
I can't afford [[Hallowed Haunting]] right now but I do have a Liliana of the Veil and Wandering Emperor I got in draft that I'm thinking of trading in to get the more pricey cards I need to finish the deck, [[Anointed Procession]] too. It kinda irks me that Spirit Cleric tokens are so pricey though, I'd really like to have actual tokens to play with.
Anyway here's the list https://www.moxfield.com/decks/tHZjdMGjEESaYohh0OFe8A
I've ordered the list as singles already, but I'm gonna get a few other pieces at the LGS on Friday so wanted to get some thoughts on it. I have a friend that's big on Commander that says it's scary to play against so that's a good sign. I have absolutely no idea what to expect from decks at FNM though
