Hi, I have been trying for a while to create a fun EDH deck to play casually with my friends. But, in the times I have tried to do this, I always end up optimizing my deck into a combo deck that isn't fun to use or play against. I built a budget Sisay deck that was completely undefeated due to the lack of removal/counters in our casual meta, but the hyper-consistency of it combined with lengthy turns ruined the game. I tried Pir and Toothy and it worked well in 1v1, but in multiplayer it wasn't resilient enough to the threat of boardwipes and removal from three other players and would usually kill one other player and lose. I've been messing around with other commanders with no luck which is why I've come here.
Basically, I have a really particular set of requirements that I think would constitute a fun EDH deck in my friendgroup. To me, these requirements are so restrictive that I haven't been able to make a deck that meets them all. It's entirely possible that these requirements are absurd and unachievable. So I have come here looking for one of two things: Either a commander/archetype/decklist that does fit these objectives, or some advice on how to change my objectives to something more achievable.
Here are my goals for the deck in order of priority:
The deck is budget (<$100)
The deck is not a combo deck
The deck is resistant to removal or able to come back easily (i.e doesn't fall impossibly far behind if important creatures or whole board is wiped)
The deck isn't dependent on combat, unless swinging in with a massive board to close the game (i.e preferably no commanders that need to attack or deal combat damage to use their abilities)
The deck contains green and is at least partially focused on ramp.
Some commanders I might be interested in (feel free to ignore this and propose anything): Windgrace, Muldrotha, Estrid, Riku.
Anyway, sorry if this is a stupid post, just wondering if anyone has any insight on what to do here to create a resilient, non-combo deck.
