Is Astor underrated?

I’ve been wanting to make a sunforger deck for awhile, but didn’t really want to use Feather.
I’ve had my eye on Astor and he seems perfect for it but his deck count on EDHrec is really low… am I missing something? Does anyone have experience using Astor, specifically as a sunforger commander? Or even just generically? Is his chadness underrated cause of commander glut? Or does he read better than he plays?
