So I bought the Faldorn Precon around Nov and played it a few times. I enjoyed the deck enough to upgrade it, despite people telling me Durnan and Passionate Archeologist would potentially be better. I like the play pattern to an extent, the deck was designed to be able to make lots of wolves and win either by combat damage or by Impact Tremors/Purphoros to kill off the opponents.
During a recent brew session of Naya commanders (was looking at Fallout Naya Precon for ideas) I found out about Rocco, Street Chef. To a degree, it reminds me a lot of my buddy's deck based around Vazi, Keen Negotiator, the idea of "I let people share in the value, but I benefit when people do it". Unlike Faldorn as well, Rocco will enable your strategy passively, actively throwing things into exile. Unlike Faldorn or Prosper, instead of 2/2s or Treasure, you get a counter and Food.
My main issue is "balance". What I mean is, I need enough exile triggers (passive or active) so that I can trigger Rocco, but I also likely want a balance of food synergy and 1 synergy, or alternatively focus on one or the other. But it feels so...delicate. I'm unsure if Rocco is stronger (it certainly FEELS stronger) and it has some additional power that Faldorn and Prosper don't have. But I wanna hear from the community; is Faldorn stronger, or is Rocco? And is there a synergy I should lean towards (more 1, or more food? Balance the two?) And then there's the balancing act of having enough exile.
Of course, I'd love to hear your suggestions. Is Share the Spoils better or worse in Rocco? How effective is Uba Mask, stuff like that
TIA 🦊
