Hello all. I’m trying to do a 32 deck challenge and realizing that I need to plan a bit further ahead. I’m hoping for advice or anecdotes on how people have structured their 32 decks.

For instance, I think I’d like to have at least one deck that’s helmed by partners, another with a creature background pair, a planeswalker commander, and a commander that’s double-sided.

I’d also like to cover a variety of tribes and themes, which leads me to conclude that there will be some conflicts, like having to choose between Atla Palani (Naya) and Satoru Umezawa (Dimir) as the “cheat in big creatures” deck.

I’d definitely like to have a 1/ 1 counters deck, equipment, enchantress, artifacts, landfall, reanimator, a few tribal, legendary matters, etc. These, plus trying to build the decks at a range of power levels from 5-10, while making sure I have some at each level that can be played fairly against each other when my friends that don’t build their own decks come over, make for a daunting balancing act.

After this is my personal progress and struggling so don’t feel like you have to keep reading if you’d like to give general advice.

I tend to build 4-5 decks at a time, order the cards and get them set up, then wait a while for the budget to reaccumulate, so while I’m aware that 5 decks isn’t a big dent in the 32 deck challenge, I’m looking at doing 5-6 more in the near future; putting me at about 33%. Right now I have the following decks constructed:

• Mono green: Selvala/Goreclaw (depending on power level) Stompy

• Mono red: Neheb the Eternal burn

• Mono blue: Svelyun fish (May swap for Emperor M II)

• Mono white: Odric, Lunarch Marshall keyword soup

• Mardu (RWB) Edgar Markov vampire tribal

The ones I am researching to build but from which I am still willing to be persuaded away are

• Izzet (UR): Vadrik, Astral Archmage spellslinger

• Temur (RUG): Miirym Dragon Tribal

• WURG: Aragorn the Uniter human tribal

• Mono black: rats - Kumonix or Marrow-Gnawer

• Naya (RWG): Atla Palani Sneak Attack
