I started going to my LGS's Commander League on Saturdays because it's a close, reliable way to get some games in. All of my decks are budget mono- and two-color focused 5's or 6's, compared to a meta of three- to five-color good stuff 8's and maybe even 9's and I kind of love it.
I'm always that guy who's flying under the radar while the table is working to stop someone's infinite combo or battle their complex board states against each other. I don't use it as an excuse to skimp on interaction by any stretch, but so little of their interaction gets sent my way.
it's just so damn satisfying when I get to cast [[Skittering Invasion]] with [[Esix, Fractal Bloom]] on the table, make five of the last remaining opponent's [[Thundering Raiju]], and swing for lethal out of nowhere because he tapped out eliminating the third-from-last player on his turn, thinking I'd be easy pickings.
If I can win one game a night, I'm thrilled. Every game is a story, and that's what I'm here for, even when I lose.
Though, winning still feels pretty good.
