How is damage for the Minion Buster and Buster Shot calculated?

Does anyone even know? Both of them are described as doing damage in two stages, but neither one lists a preliminary damage and secondary damage stat. I am not even sure how to ask what I am asking. With the Minion Buster MKX, for instance, mine is at 5 stars, listed with a damage of 352. Is the bullet doing 352 damage, and then the explosive doing some fraction of that to other enemies within 1 meter? Is the bullet doing, let’s say, 50 damage, and the explosive doing 302 damage? Does anyone know definitively how this works, or even have a strong theory?
