Online vs. Local Question

Hey all, A buddy and I recently picked 4.1 up, and since I'm about to move to another country we have been discussing online play. Anybody else out there relatively noobish online and want to farm sometime, or have any tips/tricks beyond what's on Uncle Google?
He has farmed about 2k health on his chars, and once I get settled I'll set some afk farms up to get my Wing Diver and Air Raiders up to par.
