if you want more men in early childhood education, then why are the you teachers and directors allowing this to happen, and not reporting it to the equal employment opportunity commission when its clearly against the law.
Post Body

I apologize for my brash bluntness but even out of the field I still see it going on more and more, and more men fearing to join because of this along with fear of not being supported when they (and even women ) are falsly accused.

in reference to this thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/ECEProfessionals/comments/t8xczt/is_it_normal_for_male_bodiedmale_presenting/

how come I hear so many of you all saying its wrong, its sexist, etc. (or it happens and its wrong) but dont at all say "oh yeah I reported it"

seriously why dont more preschool teachers who say its sexist, and discriminatory NOT report this stuff to the Equal employment opportunity commission??! the civil rights code states and I quote:

UNLAWFUL EMPLOYMENT PRACTICESSEC. 2000e-2. [Section 703](a) Employer practicesIt shall be an unlawful employment practice for an employer -(1) to fail or refuse to hire or to discharge any individual, or otherwise to discriminate against any individual with respect to his compensation, terms, conditions, or privileges of employment, because of such individual's race, color, religion, sex, or national origin; or(2) to limit, segregate, or classify his employees or applicants for employment in any way which would deprive or tend to deprive any individual of employment opportunities or otherwise adversely affect his status as an employee, because of such individual's race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

right there in black and white!

oh and you can report the centers/directors annonumsly no matter how long ago it happened, as long as they are in operation and still have the policy or practice.

As a former male preschool teacher who has seen and heard this, and experienced this first hand (I was leaving the field in 2020 to pursue a PHD in clinical psych after 15 years in it, then I was falsly accused by a former family friend because I said I would no longer babysit for them) few if any have complained to the eeoc, I know that if more did, this would be brought to light more and we not only would have more men in education knowing that there are those who will not put up with such discrimination and ethically speaking, teaching children sexist ideals.

Its baffling really.
