Post Body

Iā€™m currently an assistant teacher (i do have 10 years of childcare experience, but technically am the ā€œassistant teacherā€ in this classroom.
Recently, thereā€™s been a few things that Iā€™ve been really struggling with.

For example, the other day, I picked up a 2 year old at pick up time to bring them to his mom. My lead, then loudly says ā€œthatā€™s one of my biggest pet peeves, when teachers carry the children to the door, becuase we ask parents to not carry them and walk them inā€ this child was incredibly disregulated, had been crying a lot of the day (his first or second day at school). She also makes comments when Iā€™m sitting reading to a small group if I let one (especially a sad or tender one) sit in my lap, saying that parents donā€™t send them to school to be ā€œbabiedā€
