Hello! I'm an ECE student in my second semester and was doing fine until now (except I failed circuit theory and am waiting for the retake to be rescheduled but things are now clear since I reviewed the course). But now I'm having a hard time understanding most of the lectures which I believe is caused by the gaps of my math knowledge. Most of the stuff we learn includes multivariable calculus and we use that specifically in electricity & magnetism. What I find difficult is that almost every concept is defined only mathematically with all the symbols and stuff which I think is also necessary but I usually don't understand when I'm thrown a bunch of symbols and variables. And I feel like I'm losing interest when the stuff gets too theoretical and I simply don't enjoy it when I don't understand it but that's another topic. When that happens it's like those concepts are speaking to me in a language that I'm unable to speak. I've discovered that the only way to solve this problem of mine is visualising. Usually, I stop the lecture (they are uploading videos since we're under lockdown) and search for an explanation of the topic with a graphical representation. Though it's quite hard to find stuff like that for many of the topics. I'm not sure if others have the same problem and need a visualisation to understand the topic. What would you suggest for such a problem? Maybe some resources? Thanks in advance
