Digital Sale v. Disc Version

What in the world is happening here? I can buy the disc version for $39.99 in most stores. But, if I try to buy the digital download anywhere, it's still $69.99. Is this an oversight? Wouldn't it make more sense to reverse those sales, especially since the discs cost more to make? Does anyone know where I can get a cheap copy of the digital download? Or, I might just wait until EA makes it free in a few months. This is frustrating.
