This is an appreciation post and small review of a player that I fell in love with this year. The beautiful Dutch is a beast. Some cards are broken beyond stats (Kante on FIFA 17) and for some reason feel incredibly overpowered. Well, I feel like this year Klaassen is a must have for anybody who plays on a strict budget and wants to maximise their return in terms of quality.

• PACE 7/10: Klaassen isn't the fastest player in the midfield, agreed. He doesn't even have high agility (67) or balance (64) stats, but for some reason his movements are fluid and his presence on the pitch is constant. His H/H work rates surely help, and if a ball is lost around rest assured that Davy will run for it (and win it for you).

• SHOOTING 8/10: with an astounding 80 overall, accompanied by 84 att. position and 82 finishing (other than 82 volley, 78 shot power and 78 long shots), Klaassen has better finishing than most budget strikers in the EPL. He will net balls from outside with no remorse, possibly with one of his beautiful finesse shots. A pleasure for the eyes of the believers.

• PASSING 7/10: yet another broken stat; his passing overall is firm at 74, with a nice 83 in short passing and a decent 78 in vision. His touches are precise and quick, but don't ever attempt a free kick with him: 44 in accuracy and 63 in crossing aren't worth the bravery.

• DRIBBLING 7/10: I wondered whether to give this man an 8/10 in dribbling, since his movements -as mentioned above- are very fluid and his relatively small height (5'10'') let him squeeze in small spaces and beat opponents. Ball control (81) and reactions (84) are excellent, along with composure (80) that will get you out of trouble in the worst situations. It's just a shame to see such low agility and balance (67 and 64 respectively), otherwise this card would have arguably been in the top 5 EPL midfielders available in FUT.

• DEFENDING 7/10: once again, don't believe his lies. Every single stat is rather low (standing tackle the highest with 74), but I swear this man wins more challenges than the wall known as Bakayoko. Also, he tends to cut passing lanes without any instruction to do so, which makes him deadly on counters.

• PHYSICAL 9/10: here comes the best aspect of the gorgeous Dutchman. His stamina stands tall at 92 (ninety-two). You can literally go in ET and Klaassen will still have half the stamina bar full and vigorously green, after 120 minutes running about like a madman. His strength (74) and aggression (76) are broken, those numbers don't reflect what he does on the pitch in the slightest. I genuinely cannot stress how aggressive and workaholic he is.

To finish off, I play him as RCDM in a 352 formation with an anchor chemstyle (which partially explains his rapidity and defensive abilities), linking up with Van Dijk which also allows me to play SBC Promes as RM on 8 chem (with a Dutch manager).

His price is currently 900, 1000 and 1200 BIN on PS4, XBONE and PC respectively. All you have to do is invest the coins and try this cheap beast out, falling in love just the way I did.
