Pro Clubs - A step in the right direction
Post Body

This is my first post on this subreddit having read it daily for quite a while now. There seems to be a general feeling of discontent with the UT gameplay just now (I love it personally, I'm playing really well at this FIFA and can't stop scoring) but there doesn't seem to be much talk of Pro Clubs.

Me and a group of my friends have played Pro Clubs for the past three years, a game mode that has been woefully underdeveloped. However this year with the new player development system it definitely feels like they have realised this and are actually starting to develop it again. However they are still massive issues with it that are so frustrating.

Pros: - Player growth isn't stuck behind ridiculous challenges anymore. 20 weak foot volleys outside the box? Never did it, the most I've ever got to was 17. Switch the plays? most people end up going into drop in matches, go as a full back and spam it all game.

  • Traits such as the power header are unlock able as a striker without having to play as a defender. This links in with the last point but being able to choose your traits via skill points is fantastic.

  • Growth is based on how well you play. This rewards better performances rather than simply just grinding through tedious challenges.

Cons: - The way the weak foot and skill moves traits work. As soon as you unlock these traits they instantly put you up to 5. This loses the fun of progression from 3 up to 5*. If you had to spend skill points each time to get them up a star the fun aspect of gradual improvement would still be there.

  • The Ai players. We should have a system in place where we can improve the AI players we play with, and also play with players named the same each game. Yes I know that as you go up divisions the AI 'improve' but they still feel the exact same to play with.

-Coloured hair. This is just a small thing but they seem to have removed green and blue hair from the game. Seeing someone with a blue afro almost every game was a staple of pro clubs.

All in all, Pro Clubs has had a well needed revamp but it still feels like a missed opportunity. Would love to hear your thoughts!
