How to get my receivers to actually close on the ball?

Hey everyone. To preface im not a football god or super great with the sticks but I love CFB. With that being said. Any tips on getting my damn receivers to close on the ball? The secondary im playing against has burned me with picks. These aren’t dangerous throws either it’s just my receivers are hard stuck on routes or something and they don’t break towards the ball after it’s thrown.
