So I thought it would be useful to report how it functions at the moment to save people googling too much
You can now play EA play games through both the XBOX application and the new EA desktop app. You just need to verify your identity with a passcode sent to your email.
Older games like the Command and conquer collection still require you to completely exit out of the EA desktop app and start origin before you can launch the game, if other people can report on other games it would be useful.
Overall I'd say the people working on this are doing a decent job so far, I imagine it will be out of beta in a month or so
