As it was a nice day we’d thought we’d take a joy ride and get some cheap Costco gas. After gassing up I cranked the engine and my dash was flashing ABS, the gear symbol , red airbag symbol, the circled capital A, etc. Then my Speedo stopped working. Only the Rpm moved. Felt like limp mode but I was able to drive up to 60km/hr with the rpm at 4000. I was like nearly an hour from home so I chanced it. As we got closer to home we started to get some weird chemical smell. When I parked the car the back seat area reeked and when I popped the trunk lid it was worse in there. I felt the area near the battery and it was really warm. Definitely the battery is the cause. Should I drive it to my mechanic or should I just have it towed?
