Hi all, I’m dating someone with dyslexia and the concept was very new to me and I didn’t know too many details. I had the misconception that it was just “difficulty reading/spelling” etc. After spending time with my dyslexic bae, he had difficulty remembering my name which threw me in for a loop. He avoided saying my name at all costs.

I thought at first he was joking and got quite offended how I can be his gf but he barely remembers my name or how to spell it. He said he was serious and is part of his dyslexia. My name is not common at all and quite unique and has 5 letters, and he struggles to say it or remember it. I feel like knowing my name was quite intimate esp. if we are together. I’m trying my best to be patient with him learning my name. Does anybody have tips to better support him in this? How to be more patient/better partner with this? Was anyone else shocked when their dyslexic partner didn’t know their name?
