Was at a gas station few weeks ago, hop in truck and it’s running funny so I scan it and get the code p0087 fuel rail pressure too low. I get a filter change it all good fast forward few weeks, happens again. This time I lose full throttle sends an engine code this time I scan it and it says u1016 lost communications with engine control systems, truck literally only will go like 3-5mph at this point. Almost smelled like was running rich. I smelt diesel pretty bad, and mines stock without emissions it’s a 03 lb7 2wd so I know it smells but just seemed a little off. I replaced air filter with a brand new one hoping it would help had the battery undone so the code would clear. Starts up fine, went not even a mile after it ran for half an hour and boom same thing happened. So I’ve come to the conclusion maybe a ground wire. I cleaned one on frame rail by drivers seat and the one off the battery. Drove for a bit got on it drove fine today. Any one else have this problem? Maybe it was just a bad ground? I’m kinda at a loss right now. My ignition is a little off sometimes it dings after I take key out, so maybe an ignition? Also have seen a lot about the actual pedal and the position sensors going bad in these, any one have any input?

Thank you. Will look into it. It’s been fine ever since I cleaned the grounds and I got a better scanner it mentioned a code of low fuel rail pressure on idle. But never had stalled out or anything on me. Just thought it was weird. It’s been fine since. I also installed a cat fuel filter which I think helped. It’s 2 microns opposed to a normal ac delco which is 10. Also got a new straight pipe axle dump and new intake she’s running amazing.
