(This post is an exaggeration of true events during my shift today)
Today it finally happened. The thing that every dunkin crew member secretly fears, but never admits it. I accedently put regular whole beans in the decaf caddie of the grinder.
I'm not new either, I've been working at my store for months. I've known I was going o accedently do it since the day I stepped behind the counter for the first time. And it finally happened.
Someone put a resealed bag of regular beans back on the decaf shelf, and I didnt see the label. Without checking, I opened the decaf caddie, unrolled the bag of caffeinated beans and letter rip. It wasn't till i had half emptied the bag when I noticed the brown text. Not orange, but brown.
Fortunately my shift leader was nearby when I had to ask advice as to how to resolve the situation. My instructions were clear. I was to dump the caddie. It may have only been half full, but I cannot imagine how much those beans cost.
Ashamed, I walked the oranged topped caddie over to the rectangular trash can and dumped it.
But that's only 4lbs, what about the other 4?
Well, not even two hours later I did it again but with decaf beans in the regular caddie.
My pride may be permanently damaged, but at least I can be confident that no customer was served a tampered product, and the probability of me ever doing it again is now incredibly low.
I fear the day that I dump a carton of whole milk into the skin container. shudders
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk lmao.
if anybody in charge of my franchise is reading, this story is at least 75% lies
